Rat Pee Smell in Car - Things to Take Care During House Construction
While we were going somewhere in Bangalore, our car smelled bad. The smell intensity increased when we were waiting at the signal.
My dad couldn't tolerate the smell and asked my brother Do you have any perfume?
He gave one that he kept on the car's dashboard. After spraying perfume inside the car, the smell was somewhat controlled.
When my mom asked what this smell was, my brother replied, "It's Rat pee smell".
We don't use our car that much. Only a few times a year, we take it outside. All the other time, it was parked inside our parking area.
If we park a car in the same place for a longer duration, one problem usually happens. That is, rats start using car has their house.
If they start using them, they also start eating lots of items like cables, car seats, and urinating everywhere inside the car. Just because of these small rats, we may sometimes end up paying big expenses for fixing the damages they cause.
People who experienced such an issue know the value of a rat-free environment.
That doesn't mean we are doing nothing...
We have been trying to catch that rat for quite a few days, if not months, in a safe way. However, the rat that comes daily near our car seems very smart. This rat is not going inside the mouse trap we were keeping. It's going near, but not inside the trap.
The food we are using to trap rats is simply getting waste.
If we catch one rat, another rat appears after a few months. This cycle is not stopping.
We cannot ignore this, as we have already paid for a service to repair the damaged cables. Additionally, the cost of seat damage is not included in this estimate.
I thought it was only happening to cars. However, I recently came across a YouTube video showing a man spraying Rat repellent on his electric scooter due to a rat issue.
Luckily, we have never faced such issues with two-wheelers yet.
All these issues could have been avoided if we had done one thing correctly during the construction of our house.
Although we can resolve that issue now, considering the cost and effort it would take, we are not interested in doing so. Not only that, but if we fix it, it may also look patchy.
If you want to address a rat issue during the house construction stage itself, I have shared some suggestions in this guide.
